Young Hostel

Some people live here long term. The rooms are small, with some noisy and others quiet, and everything is fairly clean. All in all, it's just a budget option. If you can't afford more, you get what you paid for.

A welcoming place with cozy, clean rooms. If anything came up, they took care of it. Shops and food are within walking distance, and Uber rides everywhere were easy. Highly recommend!

The place is really outdated. Doors wouldn't lock, there were holes in the walls, and the bedroom was falling apart. The sheets looked dirty, and strange people were walking around at night. I won't be coming back.

When I arrived late at night, there were no instructions or keys at reception. I called the owner or manager, who said they couldn't leave the keys there and that I needed to arrange alternative accommodation. This is by far the worst customer service I've ever encountered. They told me 24 hours before arrival that I could collect the keys after hours, only to tell me to find somewhere else once I got there. I’d booked two nights for myself and my family at Mountain Accommodation Auckland through Expedia six to eight weeks ahead. I messaged them a couple of times on Expedia five weeks beforehand to ask about arriving after hours and got no reply. I called four weeks in advance and staff said they'd leave the keys at reception, with instructions for how to get them. I checked by phone again 24 hours before arriving and was told the same thing. P.S. Another guest at the property told me the owner or manager lives next door.
