Marino Ridge

Caroline and Peter were incredibly helpful, driving us to vineyards and dinner. The room at Marino Ridge was fantastic, with everything we needed and amazing views. Breakfasts were great too. I only wish we’d been able to stay longer.

Peter and Caroline made our first three nights in New Zealand at Marino Ridge a wonderful experience. They’re gracious hosts, very knowledgeable about the island, and helped with transportation plus suggestions for dining and wine tastings around the island. The spacious, comfortable rooms have lovely ocean views and all the comforts of home. Each day, Peter and Caroline made a different delicious breakfast, beautifully presented like a gourmet restaurant. We highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Waiheke Island.

Marino Ridge is a real gem, and we felt privileged to stay there. It’s a beautifully designed, modern luxury property, surrounded by nature, with three elegant suites equipped for a relaxing stay. Caroline and Peter have created what’s considered the island’s prime luxury property. The views are outstanding, even by Waiheke Island standards, with blue ocean, Gulf islands and a nature reserve feel all around. We’d sit on the balcony in the morning to plan our day, then put off leaving because the panoramic outlook was so captivating. Breakfast, served at a time that suits you, was wonderfully prepared, with a range of fresh dishes, many using produce from their vegetable and fruit garden. The regular ferry from Auckland takes 30 minutes. This is a must on a trip to New Zealand, and when we return for a third visit, Marino Ridge will be our first accommodation choice for the whole country.

Peter took us around the island, and we also got out for nearby walks and winery visits. The breakfasts were the standout meals of our 10 days of travel, even though we'd eaten very well elsewhere. Our two nights at Marino ridge felt far too short. The rooms were beautifully furnished, with a lovely beach view from the patio, and Caroline and Peter were so thoughtful about our comfort that leaving felt like saying goodbye to friends. We had an incredible stay and highly recommend it.
