We arrived after 6pm and found a sign asking guests to phone for assistance. We didn’t have a New Zealand phone, so there was no way to let reception know we were waiting. With reception empty, I knocked on the door behind the desk. While we waited, another customer arrived and called, but got a recording saying staff were helping other customers. Since we were the only customers there, that was confusing. After several minutes, a young man came out. He didn’t greet us or smile, and seemed bemused that we’d arrived. He asked, in what felt like a slightly hostile and aggressive way, why I’d gone behind the reception counter. I explained that I had no phone and had knocked on the door. His tone toward us seemed to get more aggressive after that. This was a very poor customer service experience and reflects badly on the holiday park. I wouldn’t recommend staying here after being treated in such an abusive manner.

We had a wonderful time and would happily stay again. The staff were friendly, the facilities were fine, and the showers had great pressure. I’m not sure why the place gets bad reviews. Being under the bridges was actually pretty cool, and I think a lot of the negative reviews can be ignored.

The wine tours pick you up here, and we’d definitely come back. It was quiet from 7pm and we didn’t find the site loud; everyone was very relaxed. There are rubbish facilities and a dump station, which many campsites don’t have. The showers were super hot, though the toilets and showers could use an update. I don’t know why this site gets bad reviews.

We booked a basic cabin and it was more comfortable than we expected. The room and linen were immaculate, and even the shared campground spaces were incredibly clean. The staff were friendly too. We’ll definitely stay again.

I only stayed one night, but the bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly, even though I checked in in person after normal hours. The price felt a bit high for one person in a room with two spare beds, though sharing it with more people would have brought the cost down. I didn’t use the kitchen or TV and games room, but both looked large and clean when I walked past. I did use the bathrooms and showers, which were also spacious and clean.
