Peace Haven Backpackers

Liza was a fantastic host and helped me find work for the day after I arrived. The hostel has everything you’d need, and it’s a good place to stay while working. The showers were warm and the kitchen was a decent size. I’d stay again when I need to start saving up.

I spent lockdown at this hostel, and honestly, everything there felt like a joke. If you want a laugh at the facilities, this is the place. Lisa is a very cool manager, but she doesn’t look after the property. The bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms were very, very dirty. At level 2, they kicked us out because some people were supposed to come and we had to leave. Run away!

I stayed for five and a half weeks and enjoyed my time there. People from different countries stay here, and they’re kind and fun. Lisa is kind to us too. If you don’t like your job, she’ll introduce you to other work.

The staff were really friendly, and the room heater kept us warm through the whole winter. We stayed for four months and came away with great memories, good friends, and good money from our time in Blenheim. There was hot water from the gas system around the clock, so we could shower whenever we got back from work.
