I felt safe here on my own, and check-in and checkout were easy. The place is right in the town centre, within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and other businesses. I was surprised by how spacious my room was, especially since I usually get a small one for the same price. It could fit three people and had two beds, one huge and one small, plus a small window, TV, fridge, mirror, clothes rail with hangers, kettle, and complimentary coffee and tea. I only stayed one night, so I didn't have a private toilet and bath. A small sink or washbasin in the room would have been convenient, though the shared toilet and bathroom seemed well maintained during my stay. The guest kitchen and balcony were functional. The staff were kind and accommodating, and even lent me an iPhone adaptor when I'd forgotten mine.

The room was affordable, though I paid a little extra for a late checkout the next day. I stayed one night three weeks ago. The staff were very friendly, and the room was clean and tidy, with a small fridge. The bathroom was compact but good, and the shower was a decent size.

The town is only minutes away, and you can walk everywhere, so the location couldn't be better. Rooms are clean and tidy, and breakfast is continental, served in a very clean kitchen and dining area. It's exceptional value. The owner and staff are fantastic and go out of their way to accommodate you.

During the National Dragonboat Championships at Lake Karapiro, the Pink Dragons have stayed at No1 Motel for the past few years. The rooms are consistently clean and tidy, and our hosts do whatever they can to meet our different needs, even staying open for late arrivals. We always appreciate their help, and nothing seems too difficult for them. We look forward to returning.

Really good value for the price, with free breakfast available too. I always appreciate a nice piece of artwork in the room, and the included biscuit was a lovely touch.
