Argyle On The Park

The owners were a genuinely pleasant part of our stay, and the place itself is peaceful and comfortable, with what you need for a couple of nights. It's a small, cosy motel, though it isn't especially modern and could do with some renovation.

The owners were super nice, and we really appreciated being able to leave our luggage before check-in and get a ride to the train station. We were staying here before heading out on the Tranzalpine Scenic Train. The location was very convenient, the room comfortable and functional, and having a universal outlet was a nice touch. A solid choice in Christchurch.

It's quiet, with plenty of parking, and the location worked perfectly for us. There’s a 24-hour mini market just around the corner, and a much bigger Park&Save supermarket farther up the road for anything you need for a few days. You can also walk through the park and botanic gardens into the city centre. The motel looks plain from outside, but our self-contained suite had a bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom and seating area, so it was very comfortable. We had a double suite with a good range of cooking and eating utensils.

Had a really enjoyable stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the owner friendly, and it has an old-fashioned charm. A lovely park is close by, and the botanical gardens are within walking distance.
