The unit had plenty of room for the cousins to spend time together, and the pool was directly accessible from the kitchen area. Public buses were easy to reach. I thought the fare was reasonable, at NZD6 per person per day maximum when paying by debit or credit card. Monila was on duty when we checked in. She greeted us with a sweet smile and made arrangements to make our transit easier, which we really appreciated. Another staff member was patient and helped my boy get access with the key.

The rooms are a good size, but that’s the only good thing I can say. The whole place felt run down, and I wasn’t happy with our room. The curtains had mold, it felt generally dirty, the TV was broken and the wardrobe door was coming off its rail. We went out for the day and came back to find the room unlocked after the cleaner had been in. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the location was really convenient for visiting the city. Our room was clean too. We had a pleasant time here, and it’s a good option for a comfortable stay in the city.

We stayed in a spacious 2BR unit with a well equipped kitchen and living room. It had one queen size bed and two single beds in the loft, plus three single beds in the other room. The bathroom was downstairs. There’s a kids’ play area, a soaking pool and one parking space per unit, which is more than the basic amenities I’d expect at a motor lodge. It worked well as a place to rest during a long drive, but its central location gives it potential for other things too.
