Cloud 9 - Inner City Townhouse

I’m already looking forward to coming back to rest and relax. The Sudima in Christchurch city is spotless, in a perfect location, and has really spacious rooms. The staff have been so helpful, especially Milania, Lily, Keiko, and last but certainly not least Ameerah. They shared great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. It’s been an amazing stay so far!

This has been our favourite hotel so far in NZ. The design and amenities are great, and they really thought of everything. There was even a yoga mat and hair straightener in the room, what a treat. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff with local tips, and a lovely little bar and restaurant attached. Perfect!

The breakfast was good, with cheerful, efficient staff even on a busy day with a tour group. There’s limited on-site parking, but the paid valet service took care of that. Nearby choices for restaurants, cafes, and groceries are limited, though it’s not a big deal if you have a car or walk around this very walkable city. Our room was quiet and comfortable, more than adequate for two nights. It might feel a bit small for longer, but the kitchenette helps. The modern venue felt welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive.

The rooms were clean, and the location was decent, but I’d give the hotel four stars at best. The rooms felt small, with low ceilings, and there was just one tiny bin in the bathroom. The walls were thin enough that voices from the corridor carried through. They didn’t mention the self-service laundry at check-in or ask if we needed help with luggage. Room slippers weren’t provided, so I had to ask for them.
