The layout with two rooms worked well for our extended family while travelling. The motel was also clean, had nice staff, and was conveniently close to the CBD and other places of interest. We didn’t expect daily room service at such an affordable place, so that was a pleasant surprise. We’d stay here again.

The people running this motel were incredibly helpful, and I’m very grateful for their service. The manager took time to show us local maps, answer questions, and help us communicate with our airport transfer driver since we didn’t have NZ SIM cards. We stayed for around five days after one of our party was discharged from Christchurch hospital and needed to rest while travel insurance organised our return to the UK. Our two-bedroom apartment was spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed, including a TV, free Wi-Fi, an ironing board, toasters and cutlery. It was serviced daily. There’s also a guest laundry, and when one dryer was waiting for repair, the lady running the motel kindly let us use the business/private dryer. The motel is just outside the city centre, with several bus routes a 5-10 minute walk away. There’s a petrol station convenience store a couple of minutes away, plus several food options. I’d thoroughly recommend it.

We had a comfortable room with a sitting room, and there were laundry facilities and on-site parking. It’s not right in the centre, but an easy 15-minute walk gets you there.

We slept incredibly well and woke up refreshed. The room was spotless, warm and comfortable, just what we needed after a long day of travel. Check-in was quick and friendly, and we felt welcome right away. Our stay at Country Glen Lodge in Christchurch was wonderful, and we’ll definitely return next time we’re in Christchurch.
10/10
The rooms are well appointed, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. It’s close to the city. I expected more road noise because of the location, but was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. You could still hear some, but it wasn’t overwhelming.
