Arriving early on a freezing night after our flight was delayed, we were relieved to find the lights and heating already on. The place is spacious, comfortable, and stylish, with thoughtful touches in the decor and amenities. It’s right in central Christchurch, and I’d happily stay again.

The Tack Rooms is an unusual place, but I thought it was worth the cost and really enjoyed staying there. The bed was great, and the MM Down pillows were lovely. It works well if you want self-catering accommodation for 4 or more people. My only real gripe was the lack of storage: no drawers, nowhere to hang clothes, and not even a hanger. The bathroom also needs shelves and hooks for a toilet bag. Still, I’d stay again.

The rooms look good, they’re spacious, and the location is great. Some practical details let the place down, though. There’s no clothing storage, the sofas don’t let you sit upright, and there’s a 2cm step into the bathroom that’s easy to stub your toes on. Those things kept it from being a five-star stay.

Right in the heart of the city, and the room had everything I needed. I especially liked having a full kitchen, laundry facilities, and an ensuite with both a shower and a separate bath. Very comfortable.

The room was lovely and comfortable, with tasteful decor and a really nice fit-out. Outside noise was the problem, particularly on Saturday night when there was an event in the nearby park.
