A winter weekend here was such a lovely way to spend the time. We stayed overnight on the winter package with Hamish, and since it was my birthday we had a few people join us for dinner. The old house was warm and cosy, and dinner was delicious despite the chef having to cater for both a vegetarian and someone gluten free. We spent the evening chatting by the fire. Breakfast was wonderfully peaceful the next morning. My husband wanted the cooked breakfast and really enjoyed it, while I had the pasties. Hamish was excellent, and I highly recommend it.

I like old-fashioned country houses, and this one was classic inside, clean, cosy, and well equipped. It was a lovely bonus to watch both sunset and sunrise. I only started looking for a place near Darfield after reaching Christchurch, and I was lucky to stop here. I ended up being the only guest that night.

There were four of us, and we all enjoyed trying the different starters and main courses. The atmosphere is cosy and lovely, and the service was attentive without hovering. I'd recommend it to anyone.

We stayed overnight after attending a 70th birthday celebration. The meal was delicious, service was great, and the venue was excellent. Our room was very comfortable and warm, and breakfast included fresh fruit salad and croissants. I'd recommend it.

The food was fantastic at both dinner and breakfast during our one-night stay. The place was clean and tidy, with a relaxed, old-world feel.
