The place was clean, comfortable, and roomy, and it worked really well for us and our guests on this occasion. We had a lovely stay and appreciated the hospitality. Thanks to you both.

We left without staying because the place wasn't what we'd paid for. The room itself was clean and looked good, but the rest was a different story. This is a room in a large, unmanaged house on the busy, very noisy SH73, rather than the rural luxury boutique guest house we expected. It may have been that once, but it isn't now. The exterior is in poor condition, and bird droppings covered the windows. There were live and dead blue bottle flies, and we had no fly spray to deal with them. The balconies had no chairs, just a table and a broken object beside it, despite the photos. The swimming pool was drained and unusable, wires hung from the wall above the bed, and no one could be reached because the phone number always went to voicemail. The advert is very misleading.

This is a review of the poor service from the owner or manager. My husband wrote two weeks ago about the poor exterior, empty indoor pool, flies, and bird droppings on the outside and windows. The owner replied asking us to get in touch so they could look into it. We have now emailed twice at the correct address and still haven't had a reply. That says a lot.

The setting is quiet and serene, a lovely place to pause and enjoy the good things. It left me feeling refreshed. From the window, you can see ducks on a pond and wagyu cows in the fields. The room was clean, and the host prepared the best food.
