Allan Court Motel

The place was unclean, and I have photos to prove it. The bathroom and toilet hadn't been cleaned, especially the fan above the shower, which was FULL of hair and dust. Cigarette smoke filled our room when the owners smoked at the base of the stairwell. We DID NOT cook any food in our unit, after checking with the operator first. Their reply to the review was nothing short of lies. I've been telling everyone how rude they were to smoke outside our window. It was NOT a guest smoking, it WAS THE OWNER!! Definitely wouldn't recommend this place or stay again.

The room was quiet, the bed was really comfortable, and having a full oven made it easy to cook. Being close to the hospital and other amenities helped a lot during our month there. My partner was in critical care, so I had to change the length of our stay several times, and Lee and Zoe handled it without any trouble. They also kept checking how my partner was doing and did my laundry, which made a stressful stretch much easier. We were using the National Travel Assistance Scheme, and they charged us only the difference in the unit cost and applied it directly to the scheme. Lee and Zoe are lovely, and the motel felt safe, comfortable, and well priced for what we needed.

Lee was a fantastic host, and this is now the motel I’ll choose when I’m back in Dunedin. The rooms, beds, sofa bed, and bathroom were all clean and comfortable.

Very clean rooms and excellent office staff. The location worked really well for my Dental School appointments. Highly recommend.
