Our group of six stayed in both the cottage and the bach while travelling the A2O. The gardens were beautiful, and it was an easy walk into town to see its interesting relics. It was quiet and peaceful, probably the best accommodation we found in the Waitaki Valley. It was lovely to meet and chat with Kat. I couldn't find all the flower competition certificates on the website, but I believe her, the gardens really are amazing.

The cottage was roomier than we expected, private, comfortable and relaxing, with everything clean and well appointed. We slept in the large separate bedroom, which had a good sized bathroom and toilet. There was also a small room with a toilet off the open plan area that we didn't use, plus a working toilet in an old telephone box outside. Kat made the booking process easy, greeted us warmly, shared the property's history and showed us her delightful garden. We also appreciated the platter of sweet and savoury nibbles she left for us. We loved our short stay and would definitely return and recommend it.

A great place to stop while cycling, with a lovely view and a local pub that serves a fine evening meal. Kowhai Bach was clean, tidy and new, with absolutely everything we wanted. Kat was such a great host.

The garden is fabulous right now, a lovely place to rest and relax. We biked straight onto the Oamaru trail from the doorstep. Kat was a wonderful hostess, accommodating our requests and answering questions promptly. The place was spotlessly clean, and when we arrived late the fire was going and the door was unlocked. There were treats in the fridge too.

A hidden treasure for anyone riding Alps 2 Ocean. Our hostess Kat was welcoming and considerate, and quite an entertaining character. The accommodation was full of cosy wonderfulness, definitely a must-stay.
