The room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully set up, and the bedding was comfortable. Dinner was a burger, and honestly, it ranks among the best I've had in NZ, maybe even the best. The staff were warm and friendly without laying it on too thick. A really good stay, thanks for the great service!

We stayed for one night on NYE as part of a self-guided cycling tour, and the chalets had everything we needed. They’re beautifully appointed, accessible, and dog friendly. What made the evening special was how welcoming John and Lee were to us, the other guests, and their dogs. We ended up sharing a spontaneous, fun evening together, and feel lucky to have met everyone. We’d love to come back if we’re in the area. Thank you, John and Lee!

Our dogs were thrilled that dogs are welcome in the chalets, and we had a wonderful three-night stay over New Year. On NYE, we shared dinner with John, Lee, and the other guests, which felt just perfect. The owners and staff were all so lovely and made the stay special. We couldn't have asked for a better way to welcome 2026. Thanks so much for your hospitality. If we're back this way, we'll 1000% return.

The cafe food was delivered to our chalet at 6pm, along with a bottle of wine, and we picked up freshly picked strawberries from the stall across the road, which also had basic pantry items. The gardens were lovely, and the chalet itself was comfortable, with a top quality bed and linens. While cycling the Clutha Gold trail, we found the short detour well worth it. We could have been picked up by the owners at Millers Flat, but cycled there ourselves; the road had plenty of room, so we felt safe. A great place to stop.

The bed was so comfortable, I had one of my best nights' sleep in a while. The chalets are lovely, warm, and have all the amenities you need. They're easy to find, too. There's a great cafe beside the gardens, with evening meals available if booked ahead, and breakfast included. Don't miss this beautiful stop.
