Birdsong, walks and spectacular scenery made this such a peaceful place to stay. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was awesome. We really enjoyed our time with Trish, and Sam the dog was very welcoming. If you're after a relaxing holiday, this is the place. Thanks, guys xx

We stayed in the Shanghai room, and its beautiful Chinese/Japanese art brought back the feeling of visiting our beloved Japan. The place is picturesque and private, and Trish and Mike made us feel at home while sharing useful information about the area. It's a lovely, peaceful setting, with beauty inside and out, and an excellent base for exploring Golden Bay. We'd highly recommend it to couples looking to relax.

Before walking the Heaphy Track, I spent two nights in the 'Shanghai' room. It was very spacious, with a peaceful outlook and a huge modern bathroom. The host was welcoming and helpful. There were free range eggs and other offerings for breakfast, which we made ourselves. For dinner, we'd recommend The Old School Cafe, just a short drive away.

A heads up: get any discount in writing. We contacted twinwaters through Booking.com to ask about our dates and were told to book directly to save 10% on our three-night stay. But when it was time to pay at checkout, we were charged the full tariff. Apparently they couldn't remember offering the discount when we booked.
