The owner, who’s Dutch, was very friendly, and we enjoyed our stay a lot. It’s a nice place to stay, and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for a budget hostel. Bob and Marianne.

It has a cosy log cabin feel and was clean and tidy. Everything is within walking distance, since it’s central to Hanmer.

We really liked the communal feel and got to meet and chat with other travelers. The shared kitchen and dining area just off the hallway had the basics for cooking, and there were two roomy toilet and shower rooms that were easy to get to. Our room was a good size for our small family, with a walk-in wardrobe for our bags. The place feels like a cosy cabin with individual rooms, and Yoko was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout our stay. There’s no TV, which suited us fine. The pillows were quite thin, though, and could do with replacing for better comfort.

We stayed for 3 nights and would definitely visit again. The hostel is within walking distance of the Main Street, and the kitchen and bathrooms were always spotless. Both hosts were happy to chat, and when we checked in, we got a lovely welcome and recommendations for the best things to do around hammer Springs.

The hosts work hard to keep everything clean and shared lots of fun stories about Hanmer. It’s a tiny place, but so warm and cosy. I had a wonderful stay and found the whole trip relaxing and refreshing. ✨
