Karen and Kerry were superb hosts, and Karen’s breakfasts were the best we had on our trip around New Zealand. The accommodation exceeded our expectations: beautifully furnished and spotless. We also found the gardens beautifully kept and relaxing. A very, very enjoyable stay.

My wife and I were welcomed so warmly by the lovely couple. They were an absolute delight to spend time with, and the breakfast was made with so much care and love. River Retreat gave us an amazing stay. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you ❤

The hosts’ breakfasts were little works of art, and they tasted wonderful too 😊. We also loved waking to all the birds in the lively garden. A clean, well-maintained place, with lovely hosts.
