Wine Country Motel Havelock North

We had a great time at Wine Country with our family of 5. The room was modern, warm, spacious, and clean, with a lovely heat pump. The owners were amazing and happy to help with any questions or requests. There’s plenty of parking, and the rooms are thoughtfully set up. The laundry room is handy for holiday washing, while the pool is a real bonus, though it was winter when we visited. The prices are very fair, and we’d certainly recommend it for a trip to the Hawke’s Bay. Great motel for business travellers, couples, and families alike.

Lynne and Neville welcomed us warmly and gave us plenty of tips on restaurants, fruit picking, and places we could take our dog. It’s one of the few hotels that allow dogs, which meant our four-legged friend could come away with us. The location was great, and the swimming pool was perfect after a warm day. The rooms were extremely clean and had a well-equipped kitchen. Fantastic hotel.

We were happy with our stay. The room was immaculate, clean, and tidy, and Tom and Kim went out of their way to accommodate us. Kim suggested eggs benedict the night before, and we took her up on it. It arrived right on 8am, served on a big homemade hash brown or potato rosti instead of toast. It was the best benedict I’ve ever had. We’ll definitely stay again, highly recommend.

The manager was very nice, and it’s close to town, though the spot is unusual, right beside a roundabout, which makes getting in a little difficult. The apartments feel small, with bathrooms abnormally large by comparison, and the space is laid out strangely. There was hair everywhere, and the pool was grimy and didn’t seem well cared for. I think the cleaning routine could be better throughout. It’s a nice place overall, but I hope it gets a more thorough clean.
