Parakai Springs Lodge

They were accommodating when I needed to bring our booking forward by one night. Still, we were very disappointed. We’d enjoyed staying here a few years ago, especially using the in-room spa, so we booked again. The spa in the room we had last night didn’t work, and the outdoor spa by the pool was full of water but cold, so we couldn’t use that either. We’ll think twice before booking again.

The thermal pool was just right for a summer evening, a relaxing place where the younger kids, teenagers and adults could all hang out. The private spas were a hit with the teenagers, who sat chatting into the night. We booked three rooms at the last minute for one night over the weekend with two other families, to celebrate my husband’s birthday. They were very accommodating and managed to get us rooms with private spas. Hunting Lodge Restaurant, where we held the celebration, was only 15 minutes away. It’s a great staycation for couples, families with young kids, and even grumpy teenagers. The place has recently been renovated. We’ll definitely return, especially in winter. Highly recommend for a quick getaway.

We were a little wary after reading the negative reviews, but our stay at Paraki Springs Lodge last Thursday turned out much better than expected. It felt fresh and comfortable after the recent renovation, from the floors and walls to the kitchen and bathroom. We had a relaxing, enjoyable stay and were pleasantly surprised. I’d recommend it.

There’s a huge hot spring pool outside, and the kids had a blast in it. Each room also has a private hot tub, which was lovely for mums to use after the little ones had fallen asleep. We found this cozy lodge near Auckland, and the hotel looks newly renovated. The rooms are clean and modern, with a slightly wabi-sabi feel. The nearby town has wineries and orchards. This season you can pick blueberries, a lovely plan for taking the kids out the next morning to gather fresh ones. 😄👍
