Hot Water Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park

The beach nearby is absolutely beautiful, and the park itself made for such an enjoyable stay. We loved the cabins, the pool, and the convenience of having a restaurant right there. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the facilities had everything we needed. We had a great time from beginning to end and would gladly come back.

The place was quiet even though there was plenty going on, and the staff were friendly. We drove about three hours from Rotorua along a lovely coastal route. Our clean, well-equipped self-contained deluxe unit worked well for our family of four, with a handy little BBQ. The beach was a two-minute drive away, and there were lots of walking tracks. On site, there was a playground, jumping pillow, fish and chip shop, and a small store stocked with things we might need. The huge pool and shared spa pool were great, too. We booked the Hahei Explorer trip, which took us around Catherdral Cove and tucked-away spots along the beachfront. That was a real highlight. I would have liked to fish at Hot Water beach, but signs said NO FISHING. A great family spot.

The Outback campsite was a fantastic place to stay, and the layout made everything feel well organized. There were proper spots for rubbish and fish cleaning, along with clean kitchens, toilets, and showers. Having all those facilities on site made the visit feel safe and comfortable. There’s a good range of accommodation at practical prices, with everything you need in one park. Highly recommend.

The showers were the best I’ve had in New Zealand so far, with really hot water and great pressure, and the facilities were clean. I spent one night in a standard private cabin close to the shared kitchen, toilets, bathrooms, pool, and food and bar area. The staff were very friendly. With not much around, it was handy to have a bar, restaurant, and coffee on site. Hot Water Beach is a 10 minute walk, while Hahei and Cathedral Cove are a 10-15 minute drive. I’d recommend staying here.
