On a 1-5 scale, we'd give Alpine Suites a 10! The real stars are Kevin and Jen. They make you feel like family and never seem rushed, even when we asked what were probably the same ordinary questions. Their suggestions for local dining and touring were great, and they helped arrange a wonderful massage. There's also a “local” hot spring. Kevin's love for the area comes through in his photography, and Jen's love of life shines through too. The en-suites were very well appointed, and the breakfasts were delicious and lovely to look at. Everything about the rooms showed how much thought Kevin and Jen put into designing them. It was the best place we've stayed, with a TRUE Kiwi welcome. Thanks for sharing your home and for the recommendations for our onward travels. We loved the observatory. Sue and Jerry.

That breakfast overlooking Lake Tekapo is something I'll never forget. The view was million-dollar, and Kevin's professional photos around the house added such a peaceful feeling. Kevin is an amazing cook too, his hash browns were the best I've ever had! Kevin and Jenny welcomed us warmly, even though we arrived close to 6pm, and gave us a thorough tour of the house. It was beautifully furnished, with classy furniture, decor, and fittings, simple and elegant. Every room was spacious, and the floor heating ran throughout the house, bathrooms included. They clearly treat guests the way they'd want to be treated: the toiletries were top quality, the minibar was very well stocked with wine, beer, soft drinks, and juice, and the couple made us a heavenly breakfast. I told my partner this was better than any 5 or 6 star hotel we'd stayed in. We have to come back to New Zealand and explore more of the South Island, starting with another stay at Alpine Suites. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you visit Lake Tekapo.

Kevin and Jenny greeted us as soon as we arrived at Alpine Suites. Kevin was funny and made us laugh while showing us around the suite and its facilities. Jenny had thought of the little things too, from warming the suites to choosing toiletries for us. Kevin even had some nice lounge music ready on Spotify so we could enjoy wine with it. The place is so well equipped, and you can tell how much effort went into building it. A heavenly stay, highly recommend!

The hosts, Kevin and Jenny, were the nicest and most helpful we've ever had, and the breakfasts were outstanding. Alpine Suites has luxurious, comfortable accommodation, with a patio looking out over the lake that's a quiet break from the busy lakeside area. Easily the most beautiful place to stay in Lake Tekapo. We can't say enough about this wonderful B and B, and we'd definitely return if we make it back to New Zealand.

Jenny and Kevin were lovely hosts, the best part of my stay. I also really liked the house's colours and design, which were just my taste, and the photo collection. The coconut and lime hand cream and shower gel were nice touches too.
