The showers were the main drawback. The ladies' room has two showers but only one curtain, and it can cover just one at a time, so you have to shower one person at a time unless you're comfortable being naked in front of strangers. Two curtains would sort it easily. Otherwise, it's clean, friendly and really relaxed, and I would stay again. The kitchen felt homely and had everything we needed, plus there's a games room with ping pong. Fraser's beach is a lovely 10-minute walk away. We had a quiet, peaceful night before an early start for Milford Sound. I loved the vintage feel of the campsite, and the guy running it was so lovely.

It's a humble place, but you can see the care and love that's gone into it. It has the amenities you'd expect, all in good condition, and a very laid-back feel. We had a great night in one of the cabins, with a lovely atmosphere in a beautiful setting. People mentioned sand flies, but the weather meant we hardly saw any. Worth a stay.

Right by the lake, with a relaxed feel. We booked another night in an unpowered bay so we could leave our van tucked up there safely while we went on our overnight Doubtful Sound cruise. It was only an 8-minute walk to the cruise, and the campsite was close to where we needed to be. The staff were great and really helpful, thank you!

There were lots of sandflies, so be warned! We enjoyed our powered campsite at Possum Lodge. The kitchen was a little small, but had cutlery and pots and pans for cooking. The lounge had plenty of board games and a ping pong table, and the restrooms and showers were clean with no wait.

The campsite is gorgeous, right on the water, and the facilities are great. The guy running it was so welcoming and friendly. There's even a ping pong table. Honestly, this was one of the nicest campsites we've stayed at, and we had the best stay.
