Millers Flat Holiday Park

It really felt like coming home here. We spent long evenings chatting outside in the barbecue area and playing the games they provide. The owners are lovely, always easy to approach and happy to help, and the place is beautiful and very clean. Showers were warm with good pressure, and we used the well-equipped kitchen as well as the washing machines and dryer (£4). Everything gets cleaned daily. This place deserves more than five stars.

A great place to stop for a night, with the river right beside the campsite for a little walk. The facilities were the cleanest we came across on our whole South Island trip, and the campsite itself was SUPER clean. When we asked what to do nearby, a friendly, helpful staff member said, “drink beer!” She was right: the Tavern across the bridge was a great spot for food and drinks. We also went to the Mt Benger A&P show, a fantastic old-school show. Glad those still exist.

We arrived on bikes at Easter and the camp was chokka, but we managed to get a lovely wee cabin. With the local pub closed, we picked up a few bits from the camp shop and made dinner in the camp kitchen. There were lots of families around, the grounds were immaculate, and the amenities were simple and clean. Showers were free, we had a cracker of a sleep, and the young lady at reception was super helpful. We were happy with what we paid. Adding our five-star review to the pile, this is one of the best holiday parks we’ve stayed at, and we’ve stayed at a long list.

We stayed from 17th to 28th December and found the facilities excellent, kept very clean and tidy. It’s an ideal base for riding the Clutha Gold and Roxburgh Gorge cycle trails. Highly recommend this holiday park.
