The hosts made us feel so welcome, and even went out of their way to cook organic meals from their garden for a small fee. They were delicious. The cabin was modern, cute, clean, and eco-friendly, and the whole stay was easily worth the money. By far my best experience. I’ll definitely be back! :)

We picked this place as a base for a trip to the Mahia Peninsula and stayed one night in November 2018. The garden is spacious and well kept, and the spot is peaceful while still being close to the highway. Blackberry Hill Farm has a warm, family feel. The room is basically a garden shed at the host family’s place. It’s on the small side, but the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast came with toast, homemade jam, and avocado from their own garden, plus delicious coffee roasted by the hosts. The toilet took a bit of getting used to: the shed isn’t connected to the sewer, and it works like an outhouse with everything collected in a big bag underneath. It’s hygienic, though, since it stays sealed until you flush, and I got used to it.
