Lawn Cottages

We had three stays at Lawn Cottages within a month, twice in Pohutukawa and once in Kowhai, and every visit was excellent. There were four adults in our family, two of whom have intellectual disabilities, and we had some particular needs for accommodation away from home. Janie helped with those when I booked and reassured me. After our first visit, we realised my brother needed handrails for the outside steps. He fell twice on the stairs, and on one occasion took me down with him. I raised this as a health and safety issue with Janie, and within a couple of days, before our next visit, two rails had been built. We were extremely grateful. The open plan layout worked well, the kitchen was perfect, and there was plenty of space for all four of us and my brother's walker. It was a lovely surprise to find a loaf of bread, milk and eggs in the fridge. The beds were comfortable, there was lots of natural light, and the two bathrooms were a real treat. There were plenty of towels, and we also made good use of the laundry room. Thank you Janie and team for a wonderful stay. I'll definitely recommend Lawn Cottages to family and friends, and we'll be back.

The hosts were quick to communicate, and everything was as promised. It was a fantastic find, spotlessly clean and well appointed, with lovely gardens and birdlife. Will stay again.

Rose cottage is so peaceful, yet close to Napier, Hastings and the little town of Clive. It was spotless, with nothing overlooked for a weary traveller. The fridge had basic supplies including eggs, milk, bread, butter and spreads. We loved having drinks on the superb deck, and the spotless barbecue was much appreciated. The garden was full of birds and the roses were blooming. Free laundry facilities, also spotless, were a real bonus. We'll recommend Lawn Cottages to family and friends and to our RAA travel consultant back in South Australia. 10/10.

Privacy was something I wanted, and Rose really delivered. We had an amazing three-night stay. The rooms were warm and clean, the full kitchen was well kitted out, and the heated toilet floors were a really nice surprise. We'll be coming back!
