Waimarie On Riverside Motel And Apartments

We had a really large room and a kitchen with the essentials, though we didn’t cook. There are plenty of places for food and drinks nearby. We liked Lambretta’s for breakfast and lunch, and Red 16 for local drinks and music. The town and walking areas are close, which makes the location a real strength. A great stay.

Wayne was full of useful tips on restaurants and things to do, and the supermarket and town centre are an easy walk away. The rooms were clean and tidy, though the motel itself is a little dated. We liked the location enough to return for another night after our Heaphy tramp.

Wayne gave us such a warm welcome and made us feel at home. Our room, no'6, was bright and fresh, with a lovely scent from the trees, and the balcony had full wall patio doors. The bed was very comfortable, as were the chairs for reading or watching TV. The kitchen had everything we needed, and there’s a laundry with a $2 wash and a dryer. The weather was so nice that we used the line outside instead. Everything we needed was there, and it was clean and within walking distance of amenities. We’d happily stay again if we return to Nelson, and recommend it to others.

We spent a week in the lovely, well equipped two bedroom apartment, and really didn’t want to leave. It overlooked the river, with beautiful walking tracks close by. The centre is only a few minutes away on foot, with bars, restaurants, a movie theatre, and more. Wayne was always around when needed and such a friendly, helpful host.
