We were able to book even though this place was no longer available as accommodation. It had been closed since 2024, but the website was still live in 2025. It definitely pays to call when booking online. Imagine arriving to be told you can’t stay and having to find somewhere else over a weekend with a major music festival on! Nice people and location, but holy heck, what a discombobulation.

We had breakfast in the Issey dining area, which was beautifully presented. After dinner at a local restaurant, we strolled along the waterfront and ambled back to Issey. The building has had a lovely restoration and is well looked after, with modern luxuries alongside surroundings that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. I enjoyed reading about its history. Fantastic stay, highly recommend, and thanks to the team for a nice visit. Cheers, Rog.

David was great, full of information, and it was a fun surprise that he used to work in Doncaster near where we live. There are some great little history tidbits around the manor, too. We were there adventuring with my wife on our honeymoon, and it was an absolute gem: spotlessly clean, with great hosting. Lovely to meet G the cat as well! We’ll definitely stay again. Would give more than five stars if we could.

We had a great stay at Issey. It was friendly, comfortable and full of character. The included breakfast was appreciated, and I loved the spa bath!

If you cancel your booking, make sure you follow up. It’s been over a month and I’m still waiting for some kind of refund. Not impressed.
