We'd happily come back many times. The cold weather was easy to forget with all the heaters in the house, and the farm has lovely outdoor activities for warmer days. The shower is outside in the laundry and the pressure is poor, though it works well enough. There's also a large bath that might help with that. Inside, the home is beautiful and well equipped, with large rooms, two living areas, a sunroom, and a quaint kitchen. Little extras like board games, Netflix, a visitor book, a DVD collection, and another TV in the eating area made the stay even better.

What we remember most is how warmly Anne and Mike treated us. They were friendly, welcoming, interesting people who really looked after us during a hard time for everyone. When the pandemic first began, we were living in New Zealand and lost both our jobs and our home at once. We had only 48 hours to find somewhere to live, and still can't believe we found Orinoco Retreat. We ended up staying almost five months altogether. The cottage felt homely and was very well equipped, and the location was idyllic. There are lots of interesting walks and places nearby, including Abel Tasman National Park, Motueka, and Nelson. If we make it back to New Zealand, we'll pop in to say hello. Thank you so much, Mike and Anne. We hope you're keeping well!

It's a cosy farmhouse with plenty of space for a family, and animals right on the doorstep. The farmland all around adds to the setting. It's a little dated, but that only adds to its charm.
