Palm Suites - Auckland

Having a bus stop right downstairs and a small supermarket nearby made getting around and picking up everyday things easy. Takapuna Primary School was a 10-minute drive away, which saved us time during our short-term study program with our child. Our family stayed at Palm Suites for a study tour in Auckland, and the bright, spacious rooms gave us plenty of room to settle in for a longer visit. It was brand new when we arrived, so we were among the first guests. The landlord was warm and ready to help with questions, and the cleaning service kept our room spotless throughout. We had a fantastic stay and would return.

Parking was the main drawback. There was just one car park, called car park C, and not many spaces. The busy road made it necessary to wait for someone to let you in, and the view wasn't much because of all the traffic. Still, the room was clean and had everything, from pots and pans to a heated toilet, laundry powder, and a washer/dryer. The owner was accommodating. I hadn't realized there was no reception, but they were only a call away and always answered promptly and politely. They also helped with early check-in and late checkout after my flight delays. The location worked well for me, near the freeway, bushwalks, and Woolies. It was expensive, but I felt it was worth it. I hope they offer better rates for longer stays. I'll definitely come back. Thank you, palm suites hotel.

We reserved three rooms from 1/1/2026 to 4/1/2026 well ahead of time to get a better price. We were later told renovations meant they couldn't honor the booking. Then we found the same rooms being offered at higher prices. Even after Booking.com asked them not to cancel, they went ahead, leaving us to find somewhere else at greater cost. That felt very unprofessional and unreliable. I strongly advise against trusting this provider.

We booked months ahead, then they cancelled less than a week before the night we were supposed to stay. They said it was for "maintenance," but it was only one night, the same night Metallica is on. It seems they got a better offer or decided to raise their prices. I won't book here again.
