Station Lodge - Hostel

We had the best time, and the accommodation was just what we wanted for my recent 40th. The spa was lovely, the rooms were clean with good layouts, and the large lounge was fantastic. There were loads of kids in our big group, but the place had plenty of space. The kitchen worked really well for cooking for everyone, with lots of prep room, enough seating and a great fireplace. Everything was spacious, clean and tidy. Highly recommend.

We were 16 at our extended family get together, and the large dining table fitted us all. The beds were comfortable, the lodge was clean and tidy, and the kitchen had everything we needed. It’s centrally located, with mountain views and plenty of outdoor activities nearby. I’d happily recommend it, and we’ll definitely return.

The dining room was a highlight, with snow-covered mountains visible through the window while we had breakfast. We also enjoyed the clean kitchens and lovely mountain views. Our rooms were well maintained and reasonable for the price, with heating, well kept toilets and washrooms, and plenty of hot water. It’s a comfortable place in the countryside, with a little town nearby and Tongariro National Park around 3 or 4 km away. There’s ample parking and a nice garden where we spent some family time in the evening. We had everything we needed, and the staff were friendly. Kids have plenty of space to play, so I’d recommend it for families and backpackers. We’d definitely visit again.

Dave was easy to communicate with and was onsite to help if anything came up. There was plenty of hot water even with everyone taking long showers, plus a huge kitchen, lots of parking, a hot tub and a drying room for ski gear. Another great group stay, as always. The location is awesome, and I’d recommend it as the best group accommodation in Ohakune, in summer or winter. We’ll bring the group back in summer to explore the new bike trails.
