It felt like coming home, and we couldn't have asked for a better start to our time in New Zealand. Sally shared lots of information that led us to some wonderful experiences in the area. We also enjoyed chatting with her and the other guests, and the meals Sally made for us were delicious.

The views and the whole experience at Gem were so lovely that my husband and I added three more days to our stay. The place sits on beautiful land with farm animals around it and a lovely view. Sally was kind and accommodating, even though we booked at the last minute and late in the day. She also drove us to pick up a rental car the next day. We're very grateful for her hospitality and will stay here again when we return to NZ.

Sally's attitude really spoiled the atmosphere for me. I'd accepted that I couldn't check in early, so I rented a vehicle and went to the beach to pass the time. When I arrived, the way she spoke to me felt like I'd been accused of something awful. I did enjoy visiting several mountain lakes down south, hiking around Arthur's Pass, and seeing waterfalls. Four days there was plenty for me.
