40 Winks (Adults Only)

The bed was comfortable, and the bedding and towels felt very high quality. Everything in the little room was well organized and made good use of the space, though it was still a tight fit for two of us and our two suitcases. It’s a tiny room in a house courtyard. The shower’s hot water runs out quickly, enough for a short shower, but comes back after a little while for another one.

We got exactly what we wanted: coffee in the morning with a beautiful view. It’s wonderfully quiet, too, and was a great place to relax after a full day of driving. Two of us with two backpacks fit comfortably in the tiny room, and it was the cleanest room I saw on our trip. I read a one-star comment saying it wasn’t clean enough, but I wouldn’t believe that. Thanks so much, Fiona, for such a lovely room. I hope we can stay again. Just to be clear, it’s a standalone tiny house with your own shower and toilet, a kitchen with a microwave, cattle and toaster, a huge bed, free Wi-Fi, and TV.

The homemade muesli, fresh fruit, and toast were a lovely breakfast extra. We had a very pleasant overnight stay in the cosy little cabin at 40 Winks. It sits in the host’s garden, with countryside all around and a really peaceful feel. Booking communication was prompt and helpful.

It’s a very small place, definitely a tight fit, but everything was beautiful and so clean. Fiona was accommodating and easy to communicate with, and there were lots of lovely provisions in the small batch. A great spot for a night in Waitomo.
