I was relieved when morning came. The shower pressure was amazing, but the room was a letdown. The spring mattress was really uncomfortable, and the comforter didn't seem freshly cleaned. When I moved the single bed, there was a big hole in the wall behind it. The floors looked unclean, the shower floor was cracked, and there was mould on the bathroom ceiling. We could hear people in the next room and others doing laundry. It also didn't look like the photos. I wouldn't pay $101 a night for this again.

The kitchenette was clean, working, and had enough for a simple meal. We got a warm, quick, friendly welcome, and the room was very comfortable, even if the layout was a bit odd. It was a busy night, so we could hear the neighbours, though the walls were just thick enough to keep it from getting too loud. Nice hot shower and soft towels, too.

Casa Bella was a comfortable base for our Bay of Islands and Northland trip, close to all the spots in Paihia and just a five-minute walk from the beach. The room was fresh, very clean, and well equipped with the bathroom and kitchen basics. It was serviced daily at no extra cost during our three-night, four-day stay. Having a numbered parking spot right outside our room made it easy to grab things from the car whenever we needed them. We saw people enjoying the small pool, while we had tea at the private table outside our room in the breezy passage. The manager couple were welcoming and quick to help.

The motel was basic but mostly well run by a lovely family, and it was fantastically clean. We got confused by the Level 2 rules and ended up unable to use the spa pool. It was a cold weekend and there wasn't a heater in the room, but they quickly brought a small fan heater. The people were great.

The staff were good, but the place didn't match what we expected from the website, which made it look clean and attractive. The room felt damp, the stove was missing its door so our group couldn't cook a meal for everyone, and a light fitting was hanging out of the ceiling. The furnishings need an update and a proper clean, as they were mouldy.
