Krishna Motel

We left $120 out of pocket because the manager wouldn’t refund our card. At first the motel seemed fine, and the receptionist quickly brought the plates, tea towels, detergent and other things we were missing. But then we found blood showing through the sheet on the mattress protector, along with other bodily fluid stains on the sheets. Dirty bedding was too much, so we left. Avoid this motel.

The staff were lovely and very helpful over my four nights, and both the room and bathroom were clean. The towels and bedding were fresh, too. The air conditioning didn’t work, but I run hot anyway, so it wasn’t a big problem for me. There was some unexpected noise: on the second night, a couple upstairs had a loud argument at 2am. Most mornings, two people sat in a random chair near my door and called WINZ on speakerphone. Still, I’d come back. The price is pretty reasonable, and the stay has the basics, with a bit of neighbourhood drama.

The office is only staffed for limited hours, which I missed when I booked and meant we arrived after hours. They promptly sent someone over to check us in. The hotel itself was perfectly OK, clean and quiet over Christmas.

The bed was so hard it felt like sleeping on a firm surface, and there was lots of noise at night. Our room smelled bad, and there were people smoking weed, which was all we could smell. The place is used for emergency housing, and nobody was attending the office. We got two towels, but no bath mat, face cloths or soap. There was no toaster, and we had only two sets of utensils with nothing to cook in. The sign outside promises 50+ Sky channels, but there were no Sky or regular TV channels. The TV was in another language and had a huge crack in it. When we asked for things, they brought them straight away, which was good. Still, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It wasn’t worth what we paid.
