We stayed here twice, before and after our four day Queen Charlotte tramp, and they stored a bag for us in between. Greg and Jacqueline, the owners, were around and very helpful, and you can tell it’s a family run business. Our studio room had a full kitchenette except for a stove, which was handy with a really nice supermarket across the street. It isn’t fancy, but it’s clean and they clearly take pride in the place. Highly recommended.

The location is awesome, but the spa was a real disappointment. Once the kids were asleep, we thought relaxing in it would be great, then brown stuff came out of the jets. That put a stop to it pretty quickly, especially after paying $487 for the night.

The Sky TV kept stopping and telling us to try again later, and the so called “executive suite with mezzanine” was a joke. Its spiral staircase had no safety rails and felt like a death trap. The place looks like a sixties throwback with a fresh coat of paint. One star at best. There are two motels next door, and one has a swimming pool. Try those.

We arrived late without a booking and the staff took great care of us. They were happy to accommodate extra nights in case we couldn’t get on the ferry, and I was very impressed with the room.

We’ve stopped here several times while passing through Picton. The rooms are always nice and the staff are accommodating. Pets are allowed if arranged in advance, although that may mean getting one of the smaller rooms at the outer edge of the motel.
