Four Seasons Motel

The location is good, just a little hill up from town. The small table and chairs came in handy on a rainy Christmas Day, but the unit needs some maintenance. The bed was so close to the walls that it was hard to get around, and there wasn't room for bedside tables. For a three-night stay, supplies weren't replenished and the room wasn't serviced. Checking in at the motel next door was a bit of a faff.

For such an expensive stay, the room was dirty and old, the Wi-Fi was terrible, and there was no aircon. The cleaners didn't clean or leave toilet rolls, they only took out the rubbish. I wouldn't recommend it. There are plenty of other places to spend your money where the room actually gets cleaned.

Our upstairs room was spacious, comfortable, warm, and clean, and daily service replaced the towels, topped up the complimentary items, and emptied the bins. You could opt out of the service. For a place so close to town, it was one of the cheapest options, and we had a lovely stay. The walk in took 5-10 minutes, though coming back meant tackling a killer hill. The bathroom had weak water pressure and no fan. They ask you to open the window, which has a lock that lets you crack it just a little while keeping your privacy. The balcony faced the mountain, but we could still see the lake from the bedroom window.

The rooms were spacious, the staff friendly, and the service good, so we were delighted with the accommodation for the price. It was near the town centre, but still far enough away from the noise.
