Jan and Tim's place was sublime, and we wished we could have stayed longer. I had the best night's sleep, and the bed was that good. The bathroom was massive, the shower had supper hot water, and toiletries were available if needed. We had full access to the kitchen, with tea, coffee, and fresh eggs. Tim shared useful information about places to see on the drive to our next destination. We'd love to return for a longer stay, just to relax and enjoy the gardens.

That was such a lovely Christmas and birthday gift from our son, who arranged the flights and stay while we were visiting him and his family in Auckland from the UK. We had a couple of beautiful nights here. It was peaceful out of town, just as he hoped, and still handy for town attractions, the airport and getting around elsewhere. The huge bed was so comfortable, and the fresh free-range eggs at breakfast were a treat. We also really appreciated the warm welcome, the chats with the dogs twice a day, and the loan of an umbrella, even though we ended up not needing it. Thank you again! 🤩

We only had three nights here, but this lovely home ended up being one of the highlights of our two weeks travelling around NZ. The welcome was so friendly, everything was clean and comfortable, and the views were incredible. If we could, we'd live here!

One of my favourite details at Mountain View Lodge was the collection of beautiful photos inside, along with thank-you letters from past visitors. They gave the house such a warm feel. The place itself is stunning, very well kept, and has a view that left us speechless. Our group of four adults and a baby had come from different cities, but we all settled in straight away. The host welcomed us with warmth and a great sense of humour, and we got to meet his adorable dogs. He also told us about the property's history and how dramatically the land's value has increased over the years. It was mind-blowing to hear how much it's worth now. We had a delightful stay and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable getaway. I'd love to come back to Mountain View Lodge.

The garden and the views were beautiful, and the owners made us feel very welcome. We had a wonderful family holiday at this lovely lodge, which had everything we needed for a relaxed, memorable stay. We could bring our little dog Babette, who became best friends with their dog Chippy right away. Highly recommend it!
