Ora Retreat

The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, spices and oils, and breakfast was included, which felt like a real luxury. The bathrooms and other facilities were always clean, and everyone was lovely. Overall, the atmosphere was wonderful. My boyfriend and I stayed at Ora retreat for one of our last nights after many months in the backcountry. It was such a peaceful place to wind down. Catching the bus to town and back from the nearby stop was easy and convenient.

The host led a morning yoga session that left me feeling relaxed and refreshed. Breakfast was self-serve, with milk, cereal, toast, jam, eggs and more, and there were three cute dogs too. We had a perfect stay, with an amazing view of the lake. If you’re looking for a place, don’t miss it.

The lake view is lovely and the people were friendly, but the actual setup didn’t quite match what the photos led us to expect. Our room was small and simple, and we shared a bathroom with about 12 guests. That wasn’t clear to us beforehand. It’s more like an upgraded backpacker or retreat-style shared stay. It may work well for some people, but the polished listing gave us expectations the accommodation didn’t fully meet.

The hosts were welcoming, the beds comfortable, the rooms nice, and the kitchen well equipped. We also loved the scenic balcony and the cute dogs. The atmosphere was lovely. I took off a star because getting from the cabins to the shared bathrooms meant going down a stone staircase, around 15 steps, which was longer than I expected. In the cold rain it wasn’t much fun. It could be especially difficult for people with mobility issues or anyone needing to get up several times at night. If that’s not a concern for you, Ora Retreat would be a great fit. The vibes are excellent!
