We keep returning to Remarkables Retreat in every season, and wouldn't choose anywhere else. Remarkable Retreat Unit 5 has a full kitchen and laundry, a lockup garage, movies, board games and underfloor heating that feels wonderful when you wake up. After a long day skiing or tramping, it's a relief to come back to a spacious, clean, peaceful and comfortable villa. There are several indoor and outdoor living spaces for relaxing with a book or glass of wine. Four large bedrooms and two bathrooms provide sleeping options for families, extended families or friends travelling together. The panoramic view of Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables greets you as soon as you open the front door. The villa sits halfway between central Queenstown and the airport. From the private front garden, the scenic Frankton Walking Track makes for a pleasant 20-minute walk into town, or it's just a few minutes by car. The bus stop is at the top of the driveway. I can't recommend Remarkables Retreat 5 highly enough. It's great value for the number of people it can sleep comfortably. We've already rebooked for 2018.

The setting is quiet and good value, with great views from outside the accommodation. You can wake up to lake views, and there are lots of balconies. It's also a good spot for early risers to go running. This is a row of houses in a mostly residential community, so there aren't many tourists around. The garage is available, though the location can be hard to find. The accommodation provides directions, and you get the key using a password. The kitchen facilities were better than expected and worked well for cooking. There's no breakfast. It's suitable for big families or groups of friends, but less convenient for older people because the rooms are on the basement and second floors. When many guests use hot water, there may not be enough. If several people use water at once, the temperature can fluctuate.
