The concierge team were especially helpful, sorting out local recommendations and even last-minute arrangements. Staff were warm and professional throughout, and we felt looked after at every turn. The rooms were spacious, beautiful, and very comfortable, with decor that felt refined but still welcoming. Careful details across the hotel gave it a calm, luxurious feel suited to Queenstown. Breakfast was solid and enjoyable, a good start to the day. From beginning to end, Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa made the stay feel easy and memorable, with comfort, style, and genuinely excellent service.

Penthouse 10 was gorgeous, with an incredible view, a jacuzzi on the balcony, and a location we loved. Sabrina at the front desk was a delight, and the staff were really helpful. They arranged a Milford sound tour for us and even brought an extra bed up to the penthouse. At times it seemed like the property was a little understaffed, and the laundry wait times were exorbitantly long. Apart from that, we had a lovely stay.

When I had a sudden allergic reaction after eating seafood one night, Valerie at the front desk sprang into action. She arranged an ambulance and kept me calm the whole time. I’m so grateful for how far she went to help. We also loved the Sofitel’s incredible Queenstown location, well appointed rooms, comfortable beds, and polite service. Our experience was excellent, and we’ll be back. Thank you, Sofitel Queenstown!

We decided to splurge on the Sofitel after usually staying elsewhere when we visit Queenstown. It’s a lovely hotel with exceptional service and a location right in the heart of town, within easy walking distance of everything. Check-in was flawless, and the staff were friendly and attentive the whole time. Our room was large and looked recently renovated, and the bathroom TV was a nice touch. Still, some of the cheaper places we’ve stayed were just as enjoyable. The big balcony opened directly onto a public walkway, which made it feel awkward having people able to see into our room. There was no furniture out there, perhaps because someone could easily climb over the small gate. Frosted glass or some other glazing would help, and we kept the blinds closed the entire stay for privacy. Parking is convenient but pricey at $50 a night.
