The included breakfast was pretty underwhelming, one of the weaker buffets we've had in a while, though I wasn't expecting anything special. There was also an unpleasant smell around the place. I couldn't tell if it was sewage or maybe coming from the geysers. The location worked well for us, about a 10-15 minute walk from Te Puia cultural center and a 15-minute Uber ride to and from the airport. We got a one-bedroom room, so my husband could work while I relaxed in the adjoining room, and the Wi-Fi was good enough. For the price, I thought it was great value.

The conference service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and professional. The tech staff were especially helpful, and parking was good. Lunch had a wholesome selection of hot and cold food, and the soft muffins at tea break were the best I've had. Even the toilets were clean and fresh. Thanks for a lovely experience at Distinction Rotorua. I'd recommend the hotel for a conference.

We stayed two nights and won't be back. The first room had no AC, a broken shower head and a hair dryer that didn't work. In the second room, the ceiling leaked when someone showered on the floor above, which was a BIG hazard. It's an old, outdated hotel with rusty fixtures. Even my 10 year old said it looked dirty. We told the front desk and only got an apology. Other guests we spoke with had similar problems. I hope they fix that leak before the next guest arrives. For what they charge, it's not worth it.

We were visiting with dietary limitations, and the restaurant staff quickly understood our situation and arranged meals to suit us. Their warmth made my family and me feel comfortable. Bhumiraj deserves a special mention for such thoughtful hospitality. I'm very grateful and would definitely recommend.

The rooms were tidy and had everything we needed, and breakfast was incredible. We also really enjoyed the room service food. Everyone was so nice and the service was amazing. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend it.
