Executive on Fenton

For what we paid, this place was poor value, and the room felt like a basic motel rather than the 4-star stay advertised on Booking.com. We left disappointed and wouldn’t recommend it when Rotorua has cheaper options with better service. The room itself had several problems. The hot tub used ordinary water, not mineral hot spring water, the shower glass was cloudy and yellowing, and the toilet door had no lock. The bed bounced so much that even my partner moving shook the whole thing. There was also just one small box of milk for the two of us. Getting a hardcopy receipt was another hassle. When I asked, the staff member questioned why I needed one and refused, saying Booking.com had already sent a receipt. That felt unprofessional and inconvenient.

The suite was spacious, with two single beds in the lounge and a double bed in the bedroom. It was tidy and clean, and we enjoyed using the hot tub. A central heater in the lounge kept the room warm. Good value, and the location was handy.

It’s close to everything, and there was real milk. The rooms have been refurbished. I liked being able to fill the tub myself instead of soaking in other people’s body fat, and having a queen bed in the lounge meant the kids could go to bed while we spent the evening out there. I’d go back.

Handy spot, close to Central Mall and everything else. We stayed 3D2N in January 2025. The room, including the bathroom, was clean and really spacious. There’s no air conditioning, which would’ve been useful in the summer heat, but they do provide a good fan.
