Red Rock Thermal Motel

The bathroom smelled bad and had used cotton buds in the jar. The drains need cleaning. Table and bench surfaces hadn't been cleaned before we arrived, and the cracked sliding glass door was difficult to close and lock. Bright lights stayed on outside all night, and the curtains didn't block them. There were only two pillows for the queen bed and one for the singles.

The rooms were clean and tidy, and I really enjoyed the spa and heated pool. The price was affordable for such a great motel. Service was great too, we were welcomed with bright, smiling faces. I'd highly recommend going to red rock ❤️

The service and staff have gone downhill dramatically since our last visit. This time, when we called at 9.15am to confirm arrival, nobody answered. Later, the room key didn't fit the door. Staff didn't know which key was right, and eventually found another one. There are two locks, but the key only works in one. The room had no towels, four of its nine lights didn't work, and the toilet seat wasn't attached to the pan. The border gardens were overgrown with grass and weeds, as if they hadn't been maintained in a long time. A domestic cctv camera had been fitted with an unprofessional splice, wires dangling under the eaves and loosely wrapped in black tape. Reception staff knew little about the facilities and were generally unhelpful. The spa door was locked, but staff explained how to bypass the lock. That could mean someone else entering while you're already inside, with no privacy. The spa water looked dirty and unkempt, and the shower was filthy.

The staff were so kind they felt like family, and the room and amenities were immaculate. The spa was wonderfully soothing, too. Staying at this motel was truly life-changing, and with the very reasonable price, I can't recommend the place enough. I'll definitely come back.
