Tuscany Villas Rotorua

They were so kind and helpful when I realized I'd messed up my booking, even though it was late at night. I really enjoyed staying here and would definitely return. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfy bed, a great little kitchenette, and a lovely spa :)

The jet tub was a real highlight. The room also had plenty of space, separate bedrooms, and a really good kitchen. It was a bit on the dirty side, though, and there wasn't a phone in the room. We ran out of toilet paper and couldn't call down to ask for more while it was raining.

That bathroom floor was dangerously slippery. My daughter slipped and nearly hit her eye on the corner of the step by the tub. We also heard every sound from the room above, including their spa tub and footsteps, even in the early morning. The soundproofing wasn't enough. We booked a '2 Bedroom Spa Suite' online for last night, expecting a kid friendly place with an outdoor pool. The pool was closed for winter, even though it was a beautifully warm day when we arrived. Inside, there were exposed wires dangling behind the TV, and the screen was crackly. We got tired of waiting for someone to fix it and went out. When we came back it was a little better. The heating setup felt so dangerous. In the bedrooms, the heaters had hot plugs in the headboards, leaving only about 40 cm between the wall and bed to squeeze them in. We needed heat in winter, but the kids, aged four and eight, couldn't safely use a fan or oil heater in their room. They were freezing overnight. There was just one small, thin faux mink blanket in the wardrobe for the four of us. The room was clean, with newer carpet and a tiny kitchenette that came in handy. Even so, at $285 a night, it definitely wasn't worth it. Never again.

Judith, the manager, is so friendly and helpful, and the beds are really comfortable. The in-room spas are a nice extra. It's only a few minutes from town, supermarkets, restaurants, and takeaways. I love the atmosphere, and my rooms have always been very clean. This is my usual place to stay when I visit Rotorua.
