The Barn Cabins & Camp

We stayed in our campervan on an unpowered site, right by Abel Tasman reserve. There's a great kitchen, plus shared food left by other campers, which was handy. We walked to the kayaking companies for our trip, and there's a nice bar just two minutes away with great pizza. Amazing location, would definitely recommend.

Getting hold of someone when alarms are going off was really difficult. The washer and dryer cost a lot to use, and the coffees from the cart were expensive and not worth it. The showers kept switching between hot and cold, and the wifi was questionable. The Weka room, though, was spacious and cozy, and always at a comfortable temperature. The smaller cabin we'd booked got too hot in the day, too cold at night, and had condensation in the morning. I liked all the signs reminding guests to keep things tidy, although the place could have been cleaner. The little shop at reception had some great things for sale. The beach wasn't far, there was good food down the road, the views were stunning, and the air was fresh. The kitchen water was all drinkable, and being able to take or leave food there was really useful when we needed to get rid of some.

There's a mix of cabins, dorms and sites for tents, caravans and campervans. The place is really nice, close to the beach, great walks and a nearby café. I think one of the toilet and shower blocks was quite new, which was great. The kitchen could use a bit of an upgrade, but otherwise it's a lovely spot.

We had an amazing stay in this one-of-a-kind holiday park location. There's lots of room and everything you need, including a yoga space and beach volleyball court. The staff were lovely and gave us helpful recommendations. The showers are already spacious, but I'd improve them with somewhere to sit, more space to put clean clothes and belongings, and detachable shower heads. That's a pretty minor wish, though, and you'll have a great time here.
