We only planned to stop for one night, but the town and its atmosphere really won us over. The cafe up the hill was great, and the motel's lovely setting right beneath the mountain made it even better. Glenys was such a kind host, and it was lovely meeting her and Alfie. The beds were super comfy, and it was very quiet. The motel has been newly renovated and is clearly well looked after, with a great price too. The milk was a nice Kiwi touch. We were doing the Halfling marathon in hobbiton and would recommend staying here to anyone passing through. Stay here instead of Matamata, it's a pretty motel in a charming town under the mountain.

The hosts were amazing and so accommodating. They'd already closed bookings, but kindly opened a room for us when the Booking.Com accommodation was triple booked. Te Aroha Motel saved our weekend and gave us somewhere to stay while we attended a Wedding. The room was lovely and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Thank you so much for your hospitality, we really appreciated it.

The service was superb, and the rooms were excellent and very clean. If you're riding the trail, there's a bike shed that felt secure enough for me to lock up in. Book direct!

I've had a work team stay here twice, and they were happy both times. Robin & Glenys are amazing hosts, communication was great, and the spaces were beautiful and clean. Highly recommend Te Aroha Motel for your next stay.

It's really close to the spa and restaurants, and the motel itself is beautiful. The rooms and grounds were clean and tidy, and I applaud the work you put into maintaining everything. The shower pressure was excellent too. I loved the 2 dogs and gave them a couple of doggie treats!
