The service was fantastic from booking right through to leaving. The rooms were a good size and the place was warm, with a lovely outdoor area. Tony himself provided a really tasty breakfast. It’s a short walk to the lake and about a 10-minute drive to Turangi. Highly recommend staying here.

Tony made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, and was a welcoming host throughout our stay. My partner and I were travelling back to Auckland from the South Island, and the visit was pleasant from the start. In the morning, his signature omelette and lovely conversation made it hard to head off, but they set us up well for the long drive back to ireland. Thanks, Tony!

We were leaving at 5:30 am, and Tony had already set out a full continental breakfast with eggs. He’d been up well before us getting it ready. He’s welcoming and very helpful, and the breakfast was awesome. Happy to recommend.

The lake is just beautiful and an easy walk away, and I loved that my dog could sleep in my room. Tony was very welcoming, and breakfast had lots of choice, including yoghurt and fruit. The accommodation is older-style Lockwood, but clean and tidy, with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. The only downside was being close to the highway. Truck noise at night wasn’t great, though bearable. I’d stay again.

Tony was such a warm, welcoming host and nothing seemed like a problem. The location’s fabulous, it’s pet friendly, and the pristine lake is only minutes away. Tony cooks eggs to order for breakfast. It’s good old Kiwi accommodation, and we met great people from around the world who had the same experience as us. Well done, Tony, we’ll be back! And keep on truck’n, Stu. Regards, the Wild bunch
