This cottage was a peaceful and comfortable place, with all the modern conveniences. It was especially helpful to be able to use the washing machine for our laundry during a long trip. Located 2 km outside Twizel, it made an excellent base for Mount Cook and the surrounding area.

The small Kea cottage had everything for a longer stay, including a decent-sized fridge and a herb garden we could pick from. We even helped ourselves to some fresh rhubarb, a lovely unexpected treat. It was beautiful, peaceful and quiet, with lovely views across the garden to the mountains. Just what we needed. We'd absolutely recommend it.

The sunsets and stars at night were breathtaking, and the cottage was spacious and comfortable, perfect for a couple's getaway. Check-in and check-out were extremely easy, and we felt well looked after. We stayed at Kea Cottage for two nights and wished we'd booked longer. It's also well placed for Mount Cook, Lake Tekapo and Omarama. If we return to New Zealand, we'll book Kea Cottage again.

This was our fourth visit, and we always choose Kahu Cottage. We love the outdoor bath and fireplace, and the kitchen is very well equipped for the meals we make ourselves. Even in autumn or winter, we can sit outside in the sun with a wine or beer. Already looking forward to coming back.
