Villa Walton

The cottage WiFi was a bit unreliable, though it worked quite well in the house. We had a great breakfast, and there were plenty of amenities plus a full kitchen. The rooms were lovely, although the bedroom felt a little small. It’s remote, but that’s part of the charm.

The food alone made us wish we’d booked a longer stay. I probably ate more breakfast here than ever before, and Sue + Neil were so considerate about my wife’s and my dietary restrictions. Everything tasted amazing. We stayed in the cottage, which had everything we wanted, including a lovely secluded outdoor tub. The gardens are stunning and the whole place is beautifully cared for. Favorite place we’ve stayed…ever? We’ll definitely come back for another slice of heaven.

The lamb rack and roast vegetables were a real highlight, and the chocolate/raspberry brownie was amazing. For $65 pp, we had a lovely 2-course dinner at Villa Walton, with the lamb cooked better than any we’ve had. We really recommend it. The owners were welcoming, the gardens were beautiful, and breakfast was delicious too. We were glad we’d booked two nights for our NZ honeymoon, especially after another couple said they wished they’d stayed more than one. It was one of our favourite dinners on the trip.

Waking up to birdsong and countryside views was lovely, and the breakfast was 5 star. The house is luxurious and beautifully decorated. We felt at home as soon as we arrived at Villa Walton, thanks to the hosts’ warm welcome and the extra effort they put into making the stay special. They made us a really delicious, healthy, fresh dinner. We didn’t want to leave and would highly recommend this incredible place.
